1.God has already divinely ordained identity, love, and fulfillment in our favor
2.When a woman of any age, status, or position doesn’t embrace God as her Father, she is instead attached to something else. even her own reputation.
3.The real hootchies are those who refuse to allow God to love on them.

Three Quotes:
1) When God becomes sexy, we realize it isn’t sex we want, but love.
2) A hootchie is a woman in a spiritual identity crisis who doesn’t know how to take off the veils.
3)Hootchie uses anything, including work, sex, popularity, money, power, or religion for their own personal ambition, fulfillment, or security in life.

My 3 Take Aways
1. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.( Lam. 3:22) A Hootchie is “more than a woman or girl with birth control issues.”
2. Quote, When God becomes sexy we realize it isn’t sex we want, but love.
3. ” The Kingdom of God is wherever the King reigns.”
Evelyn Wilson On April 26, 2020 at 8:12 pm
1.The real hootchies are those who refuse to allow God to love on them. They might even say they know who He is, but they are not willing to apply His truth to their issues and situations.
2.Hootchies use work, religion or anything to cover up insecurity. Both men and women act like hootchies because they cover up fear and insecurity. Some even do great work and commit to great causes, but they promote themselves by not trusting God.
3.Being in identity crisis is not a crime. The crime is not getting free. Hootchies aren’t determined by age or where they live or what race or ethnicity they are.

Careful Who You Call Hootchie
What are 3 quotes or takeaways you have from this section?
I agree Dr Merle, the phrase “hootchie” although many don’t understand the term but it is a woman in spiritual identity crisis. Never judge a book by its cover. 1.) In some cases might not know her value and worth (her true identity). 2.) Can be young or old, rich or poor who refuse to allow God to love on them. Instead they choose they own way of being right and to get what they want. 3.) The problem occurs when she doesn’t rely on God to get her needs, problems, or issues met. *** Glory to God there is hope!!! God is the “HOPE”. God working in and through each of there life is there hope.

1. “I used to hide behind many veils. As soon as I would take off one, another would take its place. I was ashamed of my past and too afraid of my future because of all the mistakes I had made. Some of them weren’t even my mistakes: they belonged to others that hurt me. Nevertheless, they still caused me great shame and pain.”
2. “By my definition, a hootchie is a woman in spiritual identity crisis. They all wear facades. Most of them, like me, want to take off their veils, but they don’t know how.”
3. “These women found the key winning the heart of God. They learned the Kingdom of God is wherever the King reigns. They knew the first move one makes in the presence of a King is to acknowledge that ‘He’ is the King.”

1. Paraphrased – Hootchies comprise of all ages, all covering up their shame, due to spiritual identity crises,
2. Hootchies use work, religion or anything to cover up insecurity. Both men and women act like hootchies because they cover up fear and insecurity. Some even do great work and commit to great causes, but they promote themselves by not trusting God,
3. Paraphrased – Pride and shame keeps them trapped due to low self-worth.

Three “quotes”:
1. “When God becomes sexy, we realize that it is not sex we want but love”. Really appreciate how articulate this statement is.
2. “I was ashamed of my past and too afraid of my future because of all of the mistakes I had made”. So many women can identify with the fear of removing a veil that could make one vulnerable, particularly if she removes the veil without God’s help.
3. “Because of the way I carried myself, no one would have ever called me hootchie”. The veil I wore created the illusion that I was strong, kind and of impeccable moral character. My veil hid my truth.

Wow, profound insights, Deborah!

1.) Most of them, want to take off their veils, but they don’t know how. And other WOMEN either make us feel too ashamed or too angry that we can’t get them off. pg. 66
2.) Examples of women in the bible that could be consider as hootchies but Jesus Christ included them in His circle of love: Rahab, Mary Magdalene, the woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery are all examples of women in the bible who were called hootchies, but Jesus warmly welcomed them into his circle of influence. God has a wider definition of womanhood. pg.70
2.) Since God spoke of the term whore as evil, it’s sad to see so many females today boast using words like “B’s”, whores, and hootchies proudly. What they may REALLY WANT from their relationships is value, worth, protection, security, wedding rings, and commitment. pg 67

So proud of you, Tanika! Keep it up!

The 3 takeaways:
1. Hootchie can show up no matter your status rich, poor, educated.
2. When you let God in, reading and studying the word, coaching or encouraging one to know who you really are.
3. Jeus accepted and included the bad women of the Bible, Rehab, Mary Magdalene, the woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery into His circle.
Dr. Merle Ray On April 26, 2020 at 6:55 pm
Amen, so true, Dodie. Great job!

Here are the 3 takeaways or quotes that I harvested from this chapter:
#1 – “All hootchies are not poor and uneducated.” pg. 61
#2 – “There are also hootchies who don’t claim to know God and they want to stay that way. They have settled for lies about God, rather than wanting to open their hearts to Him. They would rather not experience Him for themselves.” pg. 67
#3 – Examples of women in the bible that could be consider as hootchies but Jesus Christ included them in His circle of love:Rahab, Mary Magdalene, the woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery. pg. 67

Yes, because of God’s love and His sustaining grace, He is able to love away our mess ups and get the Glory.

3. When we finally let God into our lives then we begin to know what God has intended for our lives as women
Diana Williams On April 26, 2020 at 6:37 pm
I agee Brenda, so many times we make wrong decisions which leads us away from the purpose for which we were created.
brendab On April 3, 2020 at 8:55 pm
2. If we never have had the right person to teach us, or mentor us, then we really don’t know how to become who we are as God has created us.
brendab On April 3, 2020 at 8:53 pm
1. That hootchie can be any women, corporate, poor or educated
